The wait is officially over—BSARC’s signature winter operating asset goes live this weekend! Pack your heavy winter coats, gloves, thermal layers, and portable rigs.
- Activation Dates: This Saturday & Sunday, January 24-25, 2026
- Footprint Coordinates: Dutchman’s Creek County Park — 4750 Fish Factory Rd SE, Southport, NC 28461
- Schedule Loop: Heavy installation crews roll out early Saturday morning. Operations run continuously through Sunday. Talk-in frequencies will be active on the local
147.315 MHzrepeater channel to assist mobile tracking units. - Visitors Welcome: Members, newcomers, and curious observers are strongly encouraged to come down, see our portable field stations in action, and pick up tips on off-grid battery and generator configurations!

Our recurring local emergency communication tracking loops remain fully configured for your local signal and traffic check-ins:
