The Brunswick Shores Amateur Radio Club (BSARC) stands ready to provide robust, auxiliary wireless link channels during complete commercial network blackouts, severe winter storms, or coastal tropical storm landfalls.
To serve our community effectively, local public safety radio operations are split into distinct operational branches. Select the appropriate portal below to view program directives, coordinator contacts, training task books, and application forms:

Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES®)
Organized under the ARRL national hobbyist program framework. Focused on auxiliary backup networks for community support groups and non-governmental aid organizations.

Auxiliary Communications (AUXCOMM)
Sanctioned by CISA / FEMA under DHS. Formally integrated into the NCEM Region 3 Emergency Management network to provide resilient primary voice and digital data backup paths for local county infrastructure.

NWS Skywarn® Weather Spotters
Executed in direct link coordination with the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Handles localized storm tracking, ground-truth verification nets, and interactive tactical radar loops.

EmComm Winlink Net
Global radio messaging network infrastructure. Runs bi-weekly training scenarios, digital ICS form routing drills, and generates coverage analysis tracking maps for auxiliary data backup logs.
